Levoite™ Bench Dog Clamp MFT Table Hold Down Clamps - Upgraded

I am just a hobbyist, but these clamps work well for my needs. These are not very tall but they have strong hold. Will probably get another set so I can have more help on longer pieces.

These bench dogs are solidly constructed and fit perfectly into standard size dog holes. They do a great job of holding down pieces of wood solidly. They are easy to operate and do the job well.

These holdfasts look great, with very nicely milled and finished surfaces. And they work well too, providing plenty of clamping force. The "feet" of these clamps have rubber pads, but those pads are set into recesses in the metal. I was afraid that the metal edges of those recesses would dig into softer woods, but that proved not to be the case. I clamped one of these holdfasts down as hard as I could (without using pliers on the screw knobs) onto a piece of soft cedar, and it didn't leave any mark on the wood. And you get extra rubber pads in case the current ones compress down or wear out over time.

I was really excited to get these. These bench clamps are all metal construction, mostly aluminum for the rod, arm, knob, and face and the only thing I see that isn't aluminum is the threaded rod that is steel. That being said, its feels super solid and light. I'm actually very impressed with this so far. The knurled rod is also a feature that I haven't seen before. While I haven't experienced the rod slipping much before with other clamps, the knurled rod will definitely hold it more securely and possibly without having to tighten the knob as much.

This little pair of bench dogs are probably my most often reached for accessory these days. I absolutely love them. They are lightweight but strong, and the build quality is top notch.
