DESCRIPTION :
The carpenters sliding bevel is used for determining existing angles and for transferring angles onto a workpiece, for marking regular and irregular angles. The bevel gauge has been manufactured using a Walnut stained hardwood and hardened steel blade. It features a brass top and bottom endplates.

FEATURES :
• Blade: Smooth, rust-resistant steel blade that pivots and slides to match any odd or standard angle.
• 10-1/2" length of blade
• Hardwood handle (mahogany or rosewood style) with durable brass facings and a tight-locking metal thumb screw or lever.
• Lever style lock
• Design: Classic aesthetic and balanced weight favored by traditional woodworkers over modern plastic or all-metal gauges.

SIZE :
10-1/2" length of blade

How to Use
• Loosen: Turn the brass screw to unlock the metal blade.
• Set: Place the wooden stock against a reference edge and pivot the blade until it matches the target angle.
• Lock: Tighten the brass screw firmly to lock the blade in place.
• Transfer: Move the tool to your workpiece and scribe your cut line along the blade.

I like these relatively high quality, "fool-proof," bevel gauges that can be laid flat in use on either side. Most recently they were hard to find at retailers. They are perfect for use by students in my traditional hand tool woodworking classes.
