The body is ground flat on the surface and square. Feature a moveable shoe to allow precise, easy control over the mouth opening in front of the blade. You can easily adjust the tool to suit the work being done - a very fine mouth setting for finishing work and the slightest shavings, or an ample opening for rank cuts. The cap is large and comfortable. It is tensioned with a brass spinwheel. The blade is adjusted with a captive nut for precise control with minimal backlash. The blade on the Standard Angle is bedded at 20°. Blades are ground with a 25° flat bevel. This tool has an appealing feel in the hand and is a pleasure to use. It is versatile, of a convenient size, and cuts with the authority of 1½ pounds behind every stroke. Useful for every sort of woodworking job, this tool will quickly become a firm favourite.

The size of the blade:

Magnacut steel is a corrosion-resistant high-performance steel produced by powder metallurgy, with relatively low chromium content. Compared with O1, A2 or similar PM steels, it has higher cutting durability. The high hardness of vanadium and niobium carbides ensures a perfect combination of notch impact strength and wear resistance. Due to the low chromium content and fine grain structure, the sharpness is impressive. The hardness is 62-63 HRC.
* Magnacut Blade: ZEN-WU premium Magnacut powder steel, hand-precision ground and sharpened. Providing a smooth planing experience during operation, sharper, smoother, and making work easier.
* This blade is made out of superior premium steel CPM V3, that works much better than regular blades, even A2 steel, and holds the sharpness very long.
* The steel layer and the base material are inlaid with grooves on three sides, and the edge of the blade groove is inserted in a dovetail structure with a slight angle of 2 degrees!
