Luban® Low Angle Rebate Block Plane
DESCRIPTION :
Luban Low Angle Rebate Block Plane is basically a hybrid between a block plane and a rebate plane. The accurate grounding of sole and wings, together with the applied stress-relieving treatment, makes it extremely accurate when planning – which is what you expect in a high-quality plane.
What is the Low Angle Rebate Block Plane used for?
It is an essential tool for making joinery, particularly dealing with end grain, e.g. tenon shoulders. Because the edge the blade matches the edge of the tool, planning at 90 degrees is similar to using a shoulder plane whilst the tool can also be used to trimming the end of boards just like a block plane.

② Magnacut Replacement Blade for Low Angle Rebate Block Plane.
Magnacut Blade: ZEN-WU premium Magnacut powder steel, hand-precision ground and sharpened. Soft iron base material, dovetail joint inlay, fits Magnacut powder steel, providing a smooth planing experience during operation, sharper, smoother, and making work easier.
Magnacut steel is a corrosion-resistant high-performance steel produced by powder metallurgy, with relatively low chromium content. Compared with O1, A2 or similar PM steels, it has higher cutting durability. The high hardness of vanadium and niobium carbides ensures a perfect combination of notch impact strength and wear resistance. Due to the low chromium content and fine grain structure, the sharpness is impressive. The hardness is 62-63 HRC.
